Right-wing libertarian politician Javier Milei is aiming to become president of Argentina with his anti-left discourse.

Javier Milei has become the hottest name in Argentina. His passionate speeches and unique character have him as one of the great favorites for the presidency in next year’s elections in that country.

Javier Milei: In principle, because what one observes is that in Argentina, as in the rest of the world, the status quo has turned to the left, so there is a natural rebellion. The beginning was precisely with young people, because, first, they are naturally rebellious to the status quo and, second, because they have less time for indoctrination in public education. Then, because of the fundamental role played by social networks. Today, when a teacher tries to indoctrinate a student, what the kids do is go and check on the Internet. And then there was a revaluation of freedom from the caveman quarantines of the pandemic. We do not present ourselves as anti-system because we are competing within the rules of the system, but what we come is to sweep away the status quo, those thieving politicians who take advantage of people to lead a fabulous life.

What are the causes for Argentina’s economic problems?
J.M.: Although the Kirchners did an enormous job to sink this country, this Argentine decadence started a little more than 100 years ago when the Radical Civic Union came to power, which began to impregnate society with the nefarious ideas of socialism and that generated a vicious circle. From the 20th century onwards, Argentina has had 17 crises, 15 of which are of fiscal origin and, in addition, from the second half of the 20th century onwards, half the time Argentina is in recession. And all this has to do with what I call the caste model, which is built on that nefarious idea of social justice and whose slogan is that where there is a need, there is a right. And the problem with that is that needs are infinite and, as rights have to be paid for by someone and resources are finite, there is an inconsistency.

J.M.: Macri ended up doing good manners Kirchnerism, he opted for gradualism. This is not for lukewarm solutions, this is not for intermediate solutions to socialism, we have to face it, let’s say, hard and head on and without making any concession. If there is something that my government is going to be characterized for, it is for being a government that is going to go straight ahead, it is going to attack from day one these impoverishing positions, we are going to reform the State to lower public expenditure, to lower taxes, we are going to make the labor market more flexible, we are going to open up the economy and we are going to advance in a monetary banking reform, which will eventually end up with the elimination of the Argentine peso.

J.M.: If I were elected president, I will not encourage or promote trade and relations with leftist governments. If the decision of the private sector is to trade and have ties with them, it is their problem, I do not negotiate with the suckers.

Javier Milei la revolución Argentina

Karin Silvina Hiebaum – International Press
