Wisdom of a successful trainer on the subject of self-esteem
Karin SIlvina Hiebaum
If we are convinced that we are valuable and lovable, then nothing can affect our self-esteem. This wisdom is about that.
A seminar leader raised a ten-euro note and asked the participants: “Who wants ten euros?”. Almost all participants raised their hands. He embroidered the banknote into a ball and asked again: “Who wants the ten euros?” And again almost everyone got in touch.
Now he dropped the crumpled note on the floor and stepped on it a few times with his feet. He picked up the dirty and completely crumpled note and asked: “And who wants the ten euros now?” And again almost all participants introduced themselves. After all, the appearance had retained its courage, even if it had become a little unsightly.
The wisdom contained in it
Sometimes it looks like this ten-euro note to us. They let us down, want to belittle or humiliate us or make us crawl through the dirt. They trample us. Sometimes we make mistakes that plague us or are circumstances that plague us and that we could not avoid. And sometimes we compare ourselves to others and do very badly in this comparison. Everyone else seems to be smarter, more popular and more successful. Then we feel like losers and our self-esteem is at rock bottom.
But no matter what happens:
We never lose our value as people, neither does a dirty or crumpled ten-euro banknote.
As long as we do not question our value, we will keep it! The ticket retains its value no matter how dirty or crumpled it is, how many times you have trampled on it.
If we consider ourselves valuable, no one can diminish our value.
We are lovable if we consider ourselves lovable
