El debate en torno a los colectivos LGTB recobra bríos en Estados Unidos. El gobernador de Florida, RonDe Santis, ha arremetido contra Donald Trump por enarbolar una bandera que considera contraria a sus principios republicanos con el único motivo de conseguir más votos.

Las redes se incendiaron cuando De Santis compartió un vídeo del ex-presidente de Estados Unidos en el que declaraba públicamente su apoyo a la atleta transgénero Caitlyn Jenner. En las imágenes compartidas, que advirtió The Times, se puede escuchar a Trump afirmar que estaba de acuerdo en que la deportista pudiera utilizar el cuarto baño de su elección.
El vídeo también mostraba a mujeres transgénero atendiendo en mítines electorales y proclamando el conocido eslogan de Trump, Make America Great Again (MAGA). La embestida contra su principal competidor en las primarias llegó acompañada de una secuencia de titulares que reflejan las leyes pro LGTB que se han aprobado con la ayuda de Trump en el estado de Florida.
Críticas y polarización
Las reacciones y críticas contra DeSantis no han tardado en llegar, no solo desde fuera, sino desde el propio seno del Partido Republicano. Algunas voces internas le acusan de provocar el enfrentamiento como una forma desesperada de llamar la atención y le recriminan la polarización que busca a raíz de lo publicado.
Por su parte, Caitlyn Jenner ha compartido un mensaje en el que muestra su contrariedad por el episodio. La atleta ha acusado a su vez a De Santis de utilizar «tácticas terriblemente divisivas». Al hacerlo, observa, el gobernador «ha caído muy bajo».

The networks caught fire when De Santis shared a video of the former president of the United States in which he publicly declared his support for transgender athlete Caitlyn Jenner. In the shared images, which The Times warned, Trump can be heard stating that he agreed that the athlete could use the bathroom of her choice.
The video also showed transgender women attending election rallies and proclaiming Trump’s well-known slogan, Make America Great Again (MAGA). The onslaught against its main competitor in the primaries came accompanied by a sequence of headlines that reflect the LGBT laws that have been passed with the help of Trump in the state of Florida.
Criticism and polarization
The reactions and criticisms against DeSantis have not been long in coming, not only from outside, but from within the Republican Party itself. Some internal voices accuse him of provoking the confrontation as a desperate way to attract attention and reproach him for the polarization he seeks as a result of what was published.
For her part, Caitlyn Jenner has shared a message in which she shows her annoyance to the episode. The athlete has in turn accused De Santis of using “terribly divisive tactics.” In doing so, he observes, the governor “has fallen very low.”
